Problem Solvers for High Volume Manufacturers
Founded in Boston, MA
Our History
Blur was founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 2014. It has since expanded to include a modern, spacious, fully-outfitted manufacturing facility in Greer, SC.
We began as a consulting firm, helping high-volume manufacturers grow with improved process design, and with advanced automation of manufacturing processes. We procured custom-designed machines from 3d parties.
It soon became clear that the marketplace could not always provide economically what the factory needed. In 2016 Blur began providing sophisticated, high-precision, high-quality machines, for assembly and handling of high-volume products, such as consumer products and medical devices. In almost every case our effort begins with a manufacturer that was unable to find the solution elsewhere. This is our specialty.
Machine Design & Engineering Experts
The Story Behind Blur
We believe in speed. It is where we specialize and it is the solution to running your factory lean. The name is intended to help you associate this with us.
Our expertise extends beyond machine design to the engineering disciplines that drive machine performance, including dynamics, kinematics, control systems, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and structural design.
Building exceptional machines requires expertise across multiple engineering disciplines. This broad technical foundation enables an iterative design process that results in more refined, efficient, and optimized solutions.
Our engineers and key personnel come from high-volume manufacturing environments and bring deep experience in factory operations. We understand the challenges manufacturers face.
